THE LOCAL – JARA BACHKE

Middle-class people from Mumbai spend 3 to 4 hours daily inside trains waiting to reach their destinations. It is therefore a crucial time for them. Some prefer to take a nap during their journey, while others like to read, listen to music, or watch movies. Some even use this time to connect with loved ones through social media apps, whereas some prefer to reflect on their day. For many, this is the perfect opportunity to contemplate and reflect on their lives.
I have started working on a project that involves capturing the daily local life that I experience. All photos have been taken with a mobile phone in stealth mode to capture authentic candid moments.
